About the Course
This 12-session advanced jewelry design course is tailored for students who have previously completed the Jewelry Concept Design course and now wish to enhance their technical design skills, idea generation, and professional presentation of designs. The course guides students in elevating their abilities from initial conceptual designs to more precise and specialized technical drawings, using three views and perspectives.
The course begins with learning how to draw jewelry in three views, enabling students to visualize and sketch the perspective of a design, such as a ring, based on its three primary views (top, front, and side) and vice versa. Mastery of these core principles builds a foundation for visualizing complete designs. The learning path then progresses to gridding techniques, transferring designs and patterns onto varied surfaces. One of the initial exercises includes adapting a particular design (e.g., “Mortazavi”) to the curved surface of a ring.
Students are then introduced to understanding and manipulating shapes and volumes, inspired by Paul Cézanne’s belief that natural forms are composed of spheres, cylinders, and cones. Through this exploration, they gain insight into the basic geometric forms that make up more complex shapes.
These concepts help students build a solid understanding of volume and form, which enhances their creativity and imaginative design skills. As the course advances, students apply these skills in isometric perspective drawing, allowing them to illustrate their designs from precise, three-dimensional viewpoints for a more realistic spatial understanding.
Each session includes hands-on exercises, ensuring that students practice and refine each technique through practical application. Another key component of the course is mastering rendering and coloring techniques, evolving towards professional watercolor illustration. These skills are essential for improving the presentation quality of
designs and concepts, especially useful for portfolios and professional communication with clients and manufacturers.
By the end of this course, students will not only be able to present more professional and accurate designs but also gain the technical and creative skills needed to enter the professional world of jewelry design confidently.

ONLINE COURSE Advantages at MDA
The major difference that parts Mortazavi Design Academy from other academies and schools that present online courses is that we at MDA offer a live, interactive class whereas other online education websites usually offer a pre-recorded video of a course that withdraws the ability to collaborate with the instructor and ask questions. However at MDA we assure a full collaborative online class that allows the students to ask questions, collaborate and see the class live from their online panel.
